Abstract:
A modification of the Clapeyron equation is proposed, in which there is no direct dependence on the gas volume. The equation expresses the relationship between pressure, density and temperature of a gas, which makes it convenient to use it in open systems in which the volume of gas cannot be correctly estimated. The resulting equation is applied to find the distribution of the velocities of gas molecules depending on the pressure and density of the gas, as well as the distribution of the lengths of the free path of the molecules depending only on the density of the gas.
