On a basis and in development of idea of Abalkin L.I. about institutional specifics of an economic mechanism as general category of political economy, in the collective monograph «Economic mechanism of public formations», under its scientific management and its pupils, for the first time in a domestic economic science system properties of an economic mechanism, structure, functions and criterion of its efficiency were opened. Many years later Abalkin L.I. ideas., carefully detailed е the Nobel winner in economy. Nort, were apprehended in a world science as revolutionary break in understanding of institutional structure.
